[18/10/2017]- Astorga (León) ha sido el escenario elegido este miércoles para la presentación del 3rd Gaudí World Congress, encuentro en el que se darán cita numerosos estudiosos de todo el mundo en torno al arquitecto catalán para reestudiar sus obras y proponer las fórmulas de trabajo de Gaudí al mundo empresarial. Las subsedes de este tercer congreso serán Astorga, Pekín (China), Barcelona y Rancagua (Chile). El acto ha dado comienzo en los jardines del Palacio Episcopal de Astorga con el recibimiento de las autoridades: la delegada el Gobierno en Castilla y León, María José Salgueiro, el presidente de la Diputación Provincial de León, Juan Martínez Majo, el Director General de Turismo de la Junta de Castilla y León, Javier Ramírez Utrilla, el alcalde de Astorga, Arsenio García Fuertes, el Obispo de la Diócesis de Astorga, Juan Antonio Menéndez Fernández, el miembro fundador de The Gaudi Research Institute, Pere Jordi Figuerola y la Brand Manager del buscador chino Baidu, Rong Wei y el director del Palacio Episcopal, Víctor Manuel Murias Borrajo. A continuación, el medio centenar de invitados han pasado a la planta noble del Palacio, a la espectacular sala de la Capilla, donde el alcalde de Astorga, Arsenio García, dio el pistoletazo de salida a la presentación mundial del congreso. Durante la misma, se destacó que el Gaudí World Congress continuará descubriendo el genio científico de Gaudí en esta tercera edición de sus congresos mundiales. Las obras de Gaudí, como el Palacio Episcopal de la bimilenaria, tendrán la oportunidad de ser reestudiadas y reinterpretadas. “El objetivo en Astorga es sacar al Palacio de su ostracismo, comparado a las obras en Barcelona, Astorga está mucho menos estudiada y entendida”. Pero el congreso del 2018-2019 no solo amplía las subsedes, sino también la visión del alcance de los congresos. Se incorpora a la investigación de la vida y obra de Gaudí una visión más amplia: el Gaudí social y sus valores.
Este nuevo congreso pretende dar un salto cualitativo y no solo hacerlo atractivo a arquitectos, ingenieros, historiadores y diseñadores, esta perspectiva abre las puertas a un público más joven y dinámico implicado en proyectos sociales y sostenibles, así como a Sratups e inversores conscientes de que el Bien Social y la Sostenibilidad son conceptos de vital importancia en la sociedad actual y futura.
Gaudí supo generar unos valores y una metodología que hoy en día, 90 años después de su muerte, siguen vigentes. Esos valores son, la sostenibilidad, la creatividad y la conciencia social. Los resultados se encuentran en una amplia gama de innovadoras mejoras sociales para los trabajadores y sus familias de la Colonia Güell y de la Sagrada Familia: socio-sanitarias, educacionales, urbanísticas, de habitabilidad y de sostenibilidad. Precisamente en este aspecto de la sostenibilidad Gaudí también fue un pionero, estableciendo ya desde sus primeras obras premisas de aprovechamiento energético y de absoluto respeto medioambiental. Así, este Gaudí Creative & Social Congress dará la palabra a expertos internacionales en campos como el reciclaje, la calidad y durabilidad de los materiales, el diseño funcional y atractivo, el conocimiento abierto, la economía solidaria, la economía circular, y múltiples otros campos en los que innovó, dando oportunidad a expertos de dar a conocer las metodologías del gran genio y mostrar los avances que actualmente se desarrollan. Esta vertiente social aparecerá también de manera destacada en los sucesivos congresos mundiales Gaudí, dado que los valores de su método de trabajo y las obras de nuestro genio universal han sido (y son) un ejemplo en ese ámbito y motivo de estudio por parte de los más prestigiosos centros de investigación y universidades de todo el mundo. Cada una de las cuatro sedes de este congreso presenta sus particularidades. Así, veremos como en Barcelona y Rancagaua se están construyendo edificios gaudinianos con técnicas y materiales de última generación (high-tech), y descubriremos el liderazgo a nivel mundial de China en el desarrollo y aplicación de estas nuevas tecnologías en un sinfín de campos y a cotas inimaginables. El Palacio Episcopal de Astorga es una obra extremadamente singular que aglutina en un único edificio los conceptos de templo, palacio y castillo; ese “castillo interior” de Santa Teresa de Jesús que Gaudí descubrió en su plenitud recorriendo las tierras leonesas. Bajo la apariencia de una fortaleza medieval, Gaudí propone una nueva y personal interpretación del gótico en perfecta armonía con su propio entorno natural. Desde hace más de un siglo este edificio es motivo de estudio internacional por la genialidad de sus soluciones estructurales que determinan las formas y las funciones del mismo de manera ejemplar. El valor de esta obra radica en la respuesta, creativa e innovadora, que Gaudí supo dar, en la cual una imagen exterior goticista esconde unas soluciones funcionales nunca antes vistas en el mundo de la arquitectura.
Los nuevos planteamientos arquitectónicos que presentan los arcos del pórtico, la espectacularidad de las soluciones formales de las bóvedas y los espacios del semisótano y su contraste con los ambientes diáfanos de las plantas nobles, la genial perfección de la talla de los capiteles de las columnas con las que se consigue un diseño imperecedero, el respeto por la singularidad del entorno monumental en donde se ubica la construcción, así como las respuestas a los desafíos medioambientales del futuro, que se consigue con el aprovechamiento de la ventilación y la luz natural; hacen del Palacio Episcopal de Astorga un conjunto arquitectónico único en su tiempo y que ha devenido un referente universal. En definitiva, el congreso dará a conocer tanto a empresas, expertos de todos los ámbitos, estudiantes y profesionales, la visión poliédrica de Gaudí y su capacidad para poder seguir, aún después de su muerte, ayudando a todo aquel que quiera emprender de manera creativa, sostenible y con conciencia social.
